DIY:Studs

Nicole Richie was spotted numerous times with a pair of super cute studded Converses. I have been wanting a pair of high tops with studs for quite some time now. Its the perfect way to add a little something extra to a pair of classic 'sneaker' type of shoes.

If your not to familiar with the brand Converse, they are an American shoe, lifestyle fashion and athletic apparel company which began in the early 1900s. These sneakers are manufactured in many different types of styles and colors . The most famous style is the Chuck Taylor's.  A FUN FACT: The chucks were the go to basketball shoe for decades!

After doing some research, I found out these studded shoes can be purchased online or in store anywhere from $130 to $250!

I decided to make a fun little project out of this with a DIY and look for less post.

What you will need:
1) Converses- You can choose any color
I actually purchased a new pair for $45 from Amazon, but if you have a pair somewhere in the back of your closet go grab them and give them a new look!

2) Studs
I used about 40 studs per shoe, you can always add more or less to make them your own! I purchased these studs from Hot Topic, each bag has 20 studs. The bag costs $4.50.

Now I have my very own pair of studded chucks for under $70!! I like how they are not perfect, it gives it a personal touch!

Tweet me or Instagram me if you decide to do a DIY. I would love to see your results!

Hello, I'm customizing my old chucks as well ! I just have a question, how did you stud the hard back part ? Because I can't figure out how to stud this part !!
Thank you so much for your answer and I lovee your blog :)

Hi @roxanne ,
I am sorry for the late reply. The part where its a tad bit harder, I actaully used a small tool to poke a hole since it was difficult to force the stud in. The back/side part where it is harder took the longest. :/ I hope that helps!

and thank you so much!
have a good day
